On June 24, 2011 at its annual year in review of Indiana criminal law, the Indiana Public Defender Council (IPDC) named its top 10 appellate decisions. There were in fact a few more than 10 opinions cited, as the IPDC broke its list down by 10 categories, and each category had at least 2 opinions cited. Ted Adams came in at #6 with Goens v. State in which Ted got charges thrown out for a client facing 11 years in prison, after convincing the Appellate Court that police conducted an illegal stop. Scott Knierim came in at #9 with Nicholson v. State in which Scott successfully argued that Nicholson's 20 year conviction for intimidation should be thrown out.
